We got a big surprise at the vet when we brought Inky & Shadow in to be neutered: the vet discovered the kittens we'd been told were little boys were, in fact, girls! Seriously shy with strangers, the girls are gentle and full of purrs with people who have earned their trust. Inky, the larger of the pair is more outgoing and curious. As her name implies, little Shadow is more retiring and prefers to let her sister be her spokeskitty. But both kitties LOVE to be petted and sleep with their foster family members at night. The girls are very close and would love to be adopted together. They are easily overwhelmed in scary situations-like adoption fairs (aren't we all?!) so we don't force that experience on them. 

Update October 2012: The girls continue to thrive under their foster mom's watchful eye, but remain jittery aabout people they don't know. We will try to get big-girl pictures one of these days so you can see how lovely they are now!
