Toby lost his person and the only home he could remember when his elderly FFGW adopter returned him to us in April 2008. Cautious and shy in new situations, Toby really surprised us by the way he adapted to foster care and living with other cats for the first time since he was a tiny kitten. After several months cowering in the safety of his "room" (a spare bathroom), Toby now sleeps on his foster mom's bed and has become pals with one of his foster "brothers." Toby has also invented a game: he "catches" his favorite toy, and bellows (think " Rebel Yell " J ) as he brings his "prey" downstairs to deposit it on the floor at his foster mom's feet! While Toby would probably like to be an only cat again, he's shown that he can adapt if he's given time to adjust. We know he will pay some patient human back with endless love and loyalty. Please give this boy a chance to shine again. Toby is such a great cat we just can't understand why he hasn't been snapped up. In fall 2012, our vet discovered that Toby is hyperthyroid which means he has too much thyroid hormone. He takes his medicine like a model patient and then goes back to his fun and games. FFGW will help out with the cost of his medicine after he is adopted!
